Wearable Rewilding Carrier

Our concept is a wearable carrier crafted from durable nettle fibre, designed to hold and protect 25–30 seed bombs (each 15 grams) for easy rewilding and storage. This carrier features a dual structure, taking advantage of nettle’s natural properties: the outside is firm enough to keep seed bombs intact and safe

Why Seed Bombs?
It all started with Isabel’s challenge of storing seeds. By turning them into seed bombs, they’re not only easier to carry but also simpler to plant—just toss one into the soil and let nature take its course. Plus, these seed bombs double as a creative “business card,” spreading the concept of Smissenbroek far beyond its borders, especially into cities that urgently need more biodiversity.

Why Nettle?
Nettles are often dismissed as nothing more than weeds. In reality, this highly sustainable plant grows quickly all around the world, nourishes pollinators, and improves soil health. Its fibres are surprisingly strong, yet soft enough for wearable comfort. By choosing nettle, we’re challenging misconceptions about native plants and aligning with Smissenbroek’s mission to respect nature and support ecological balance.

With this carrier, we hope to make rewilding accessible, enjoyable, and stylish—one seed bomb at a time.
